Cobra CB radio for contact

At the beginning of your quest, if you had told me that you lived within a mountainous area, i would have urged you to use a "directional antenna" placed on top of the building that you live in, and i still urge you to consider it...A directional antenna simply sends most of the radio signal into an area that you point it at, hence the name :)..

.I will assume that there is a gap somewhere between the mountains that would allow the directional antenna to beam the CB signal through that gap, and would obviously expand your CB radio coverage into another area, the Firestick antenna would always be used when you decide to go out UFO hunting in your car :)..

Obviously you can continue with what you are doing right now, in the hope that a UFO flies over the area you live in, and picks up your messages...I feel certain your CB set is transmitting the messages you are giving out, even though it is within a more confined area......The key to what you are doing relies on patience, and sustained repetitive messaging...What that means is you keep repeating the same message over and over again for upto 5 minutes, within every 15 minutes, and dont just say the same message for only a couple of times, then change channels and then quickly stop transmitting :D..

Another thing you could do, is to record your messages onto your cell phone, and then play them into the CB microphone with the Press To Talk button (PTT) Sellotaped down, so that you can be doing other things away from the CB set, that would prevent you from getting bored :)....Below is a picture of a Directional Antenna (y)..

@TimeFlipper - If you had to guess: to potentially reach a UFO, would you say it matters what time you transmit over the airwaves?

Important note: Up to now, I've always been transmitting at close to 9:00 PM where I live.

IMHO i believe its best to transmit in your area when it is dark, the logic is if a UFO wants to travel best without being seen, night time provides good cover for them....Also in your particular area you would need a UFO to be in flight mode to hear your transmissions :)..

@Einstein, @TimeFlipper, & @titorite - It's hot during summers, like this one, where I live. Since my antenna is on top of my air conditioning unit, I was wondering: could I still use my CB radio to transmit and receive effectively while the AC is on?

I'm asking this because when I go to bed, I want to go to sleep in a very cool room. Also, I'm not sure if the vibration from the unit would cause interference with the signal(s).

I don't think it would affect normal cb transmission but for what you're trying to accomplish i wouldn't even take the chance. More over it sounds like bad placement then again, i dont know exactly how you have it and what not. Do you have another place you can place your attentenna?
