Despite what the rules teach us about off-topic posts, I have to agree at least a bit with BT, that a little bit of off-topic things can help lighten up the mood a little when needed the most. That doesn't mean to derail threads, definitely not, but rather including the little something somewhere in your post, perhaps just at the end that makes things friendly, at some point. Just like in real life maybe?
About the debates and arguments, the rules also ensure that everyone will be comfortable arguing, or not arguing at all.
If you argue about off-topic stuff inside a thread not meant for a debate in the first place, then oops, you're breaking the rules! You're welcome to start a new spin-off thread though, which is the point of the Debate, Debunk and other prefixes available when starting new discussions!
