Where is TimeFlipper?

Wouldn’t it be great if Timeflipper came on with a post, ‘NOT DEAD’.’
I’m sure he’d have a laugh at us trying to track him down but I think he would be flattered by the lengths that we’ve gone to to try and locate him.

I am based in Warwickshire whilst my Wife is from Sheffield. We often meet up with her family at a location approximately half way. Half way is Derbyshire. One year we happened to book a holiday home for a few days and by sheer coincidence it was in Timeflippers home town. He gave me his telephone numbers and we spoke a few times. He wanted me to drop in and look at his inventions but alas I didn’t make it over to see him, the weekend was way to busy but we kept in touch.

Both the numbers that he gave me are now out of action. One with a disconnection message and the other with a constant ‘engaged’ tone (even in the middle of the night) which over here in the UK usually means that the number is just about to be disconnected.

Like other forum members I have spent hours searching the obituaries and funeral notices. There are John Edwards that have passed but the only one in Derbyshire during the timeframe is too young. Again, two more in the neighbouring county of Staffordshire were both too young and too old respectively. I then went on the local newspaper for the town. There are many births, deaths and marriages mentioned but no John Edwards. I started thinking that this is too difficult, it should easy to track him down. It occurred to me that maybe this isn’t his name, maybe John is a name that he liked and used or a middle name that he used as his first.

I then contacted ‘South Normanton and Alfreton District ARC’ the club which he mentioned having some involvement. In the UK data protection is a big deal, I was happy to get a response albeit polite but brief. I guess I could have been anyone. I sent a full email disclosing pretty much everything we have. The answer to that email is below, again polite but short..

Matt, sorry I cant offer much help.
John from the rally is not John Edwards

M31CX is not a callsign format

M3ICX is not listed in current national callbook.

There are no J Edwards with a similar callsign.
If he was actually a member of SNADARC he has had no contact in the last five years
I am sorry this is totally inconclusive for you.

If you can confirm a callsign then RSGB earlier records may be able to help.

So, this is disappointing.
John from the Alfreton Rally is not our timeflipper and John’s registration number doesn’t exist anymore - I guess if he had died his record may have already been expunged?

It’s also disappointing that he was not known at the club within the last 5 years. I started wondering if our timeflipper was actually some kind of Walter Mitty character.. I have asked Alan if he would bring it up at the next club meeting to see if any of the older members might remember him..

So the research has conjured up more questions than answers. He’s disappeared like some kind of special forces guy.

We are left with the obituary that Professor Opmmur discovered. It is the closest thing we have but I do have some doubts.
1. We know flipper lived in Derbyshire for at least 5 years. The obituary is quite detailed and lists his previous abodes across the UK but does not mention Derbyshire at all.
2. The obituary also goes into detail about his hobbies and interests but does not mention radios or frequencies at all.
3. The John Edwards in the obituary was buried in Northamptonshire. This is 90 miles from flippers town. Why would they take him there when he’s lived around Derby for at least 5 years that we know of.

However It’s our best bet, no doubt.. but for me the jury’s still out..

I have not yet given up hope, there maybe some further long shots left to try, the probability is that he has passed over, the disconnected telephones being pretty damning but for now the mystery remains…

I guess it is time we put up flyers in his home town!

Snake, i know it may be asking a lot, i am not familiar with any of those towns or anything i know here in the states a close town can be 2 hours away, do you think it may be worth while to ask around town? Maybe the local radio shack or grocery?

It also may be very intrusive but i know here in the States we can call the non-emergency line and ask for a Wellness check on someone and the police will go to the home and check on them, but if the person has passed they may just tell you.

Or he flipped time and now is just a Mandela effect for all of us. Just some posts to prove there was a Person named Timeflipper but he never actually existed in this time.

All the obituaries I've come across don't match usually because of John's birthday which is October 13. But I was wondering if you had a physical address because if you did you could contact local authorities to do a wellness check and get back to you.

There is a chance that (Maybe) there was some sort of cataclysmic health event
that has caused a move to or into a healthcare institution such as assisted living.

If this were to be accurate (and I'm not saying that it is),
it would be at the sole discretion of his family to announce his whereabouts.

IF this were the case, we would most likely never know the outcome.

I hope I am wrong but it's been in the back of my mind.
