You left out ..."half of the people exposed to radiation at this level (300 rem) will die if they receive no medical attention."

And this assumes a single device, not an all-out nuclear strike against every major city of Earth. We're not debating the NRC standards. The debate concerns the scenario as posed by Titor. It's a bit disingenuous, in the above quote about a 300 rem exposure, to leave out that that specific dose is LD-50 if not treated. Who do you suppose is going to treat the victims immediately following an all-out nuclear strike? Battlefield triage, assuming any medical professionals familiar with radiation exposure treatment are out in the farmlands and are healthy enough to treat anyone, would by-pass areas exposed to 300 rem. LD-50 means "lethal does ro 50% of the population" (I believe that I said something about that in the original post). And again, it presupposes only one device.

Our boy lives 45 miles from Indianapolis, 125 miles from Cincinnati and 200 miles from both Chicago and St. Louis. There's actually 4 major cities rather than 3.
 
Nice moving of the bar there in regards of upping three to four. Regardless , if you don't like the data quoted complain to the government or your mom because I got 99 problems but your idiocy ain't one of them.
